Here are two local events which might attract those who have been to Germany during their study abroad, and/or are simply interested in the Germanic Oktoberfest culture.
One is happening this coming weekend at New Bohemia -- $3 entry. Wurstbrotchen (German hot dogs) and beverages will be served all day. Sounds like a lot of fun, if you want a weekend escape from campus and to revisit those good old memories from your Germany days.

The other one is happening on October 4-5 at Minnesota State Fair Grounds. There will be 4 concerts (The Jolly Hunstmen Band, Bavarian Musikmeisters, The Squires Band, S. G Edelweiss), in addition to having lots of opportunities to taste different German beverages, and of course the wurstbrotchen.
